
Lily Belfer
Lily regularly accepts instructions to prosecute and defend in the Crown Court, as well as the Magistrates and Youth Court where she deals with a wide range of offences.
Lily is also instructed by the Nursery and Midwifery Counsel and has a growing practice as a Case Presenter.
Before coming to the Bar, Lily completed a traineeship at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France as the 2021 Nicolas Bratza Scholar from Lincoln’s Inn. As a part of her role, she conducted legal research, and drafted papers and speeches for the President and Registrar of the Court. She also worked as a research and campaign assistant for one of the world’s leading human rights organisations. Lily holds an LL.M in International Law: Crime, Justice, and Human Rights with Distinction from the University of Birmingham, and has delivered papers on international law at academic conferences across Europe.
